About Me
Thank you for taking a minute to learn a little about me. I suppose I should start with the most important thing, I am a stay at home mom of two amazing little girls and have been married to my wonderful husband since 1999. We are both originally from NC but we are currently call southwest Virginia home.
I enjoy all types of crafts, as long as I am creating something I am happy! Going to craft and fabric stores in one of my favorite hobbies. Aside from crafting and spending time with my family I am also a bit of a recipe magazine junkie, love trying new recipes. Luckily my family is patient with me with the ones that don't work out so well.
I first started making ornaments shortly after getting married, it was the first Christmas after being married and we did not have a lot of decorations so I decided to try my hand at making some. Being someone who loves the holidays and thinks the more decorations the better, I quickly fell in love with making ornaments. I made several different types early on, from painted glass to intricate dough ornaments and had begun selling them at local craft shows. At that time we lived in SC while my husband was finishing school. When we decided to start a family I made the decision to put ornament making on hold for a while. As you other stay home moms will know, being home all day with little ones does not leave much time for crafting.
Well, several years and two girls later I decided it was time to get back to ornament making. After much debating (with myself) I decided to go for it and do what I really wanted- start my own website! After more debating, I decided to initially focus the website on my beloved quilted ornaments and Ornament Boutique was born. I truly love making these ornaments, it is peaceful, relaxing, and rewarding to sit down and create something unique. It is a bit of a family affair, my kids love "helping" me (they are responsible for a good bit of the ornament names) and my dear husband doesn't complain about the ever growing amount of glitter in our house! I have to admit picking out fabrics and ribbons and planning the different designs has become quite addictive too. I put a lot of love into each ornament I make and hope that you love them just as much as I do!
Thank you again for visiting!!
